Lagos infrastructure projects expand road networks to boost local trade
Infrastructure projects are underway in several Lagos communities to improve transportation and economic activity. In the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area, construction has begun on Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe Road in the Apalura and Selewu communities. The project, facilitated by Federal Representative Babajimi Benson, aims to ease transportation challenges and boost trade through improved accessibility.
Simultaneously, the Lagos State Government has launched a six-road overhaul across the Ajeromi-Ifelodun and Ifelodun Local Council Development Areas. Spanning approximately 1,835 metres, the project includes the reconstruction of Asubiojo Street, Owoseni Street, Cemetery Market Road, Isikalu Street, Alayabiagba Street, and Odofin Street. These roads will feature interlocking pavement, covered drainage systems, and solar-powered streetlights, with an expected completion timeline of 12 months. The initiative is designed to bring development directly to grassroots communities by improving access to markets and public facilities.
