A man identified as Abiodun, in his early 30s, died by suicide in the Idimu area of Lagos State after a disagreement with his longtime girlfriend. The incident reportedly took place in the Ire Akari area on a Saturday after the woman informed him she no longer wished to continue their relationship.
According to local reports, Abiodun consumed insecticide during the dispute. Neighbors rushed him to a hospital on Powerline Road, where he later passed away. His mother, an employee at a local supermarket, reportedly attempted to secure funds for his medical treatment and medication, but she was informed of his death upon returning to the hospital on Sunday morning.
The family buried Abiodun on Monday. The Lagos State Police Command stated it would make inquiries into the incident.
