The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected kingpin of a criminal syndicate that fraudulently acquired 29 exotic vehicles valued at over N1 billion from dealers. The operation was directed by Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani, who ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba to intensify investigations and apprehend additional members.

Intelligence‑led policing and the AUTOREG vehicle‑tracking platform enabled authorities to recover 16 vehicles, 12 of which have been returned to their rightful owners. Vehicles worth about N534 million remain outstanding, and efforts continue to locate and seize them while pursuing further arrests of the network’s participants.
