Lagos press conference turns chaotic ahead of Chaos in the Ring event
A press conference for the upcoming 'Chaos in the Ring' boxing event held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos descended into disorder on Tuesday. Skit maker Carter Efe and rapper Speed Darlington engaged in a heated verbal confrontation ahead of their scheduled October 1 bout. During the exchange, Darlington kicked a birthday cake intended for Efe to the ground.
Additional tension arose when firecrackers, reportedly set off by members of Efe's entourage, sparked a small fire at the venue. The flames were quickly extinguished using fire extinguishers. The event also featured a confrontation between actress Nkechi Blessing and reality TV star Phyna.
The October 1 fight card includes Godday Appah defending his WBO African Light Heavyweight Continental Championship against Ghanaian boxer Seth 'Freezy Macbones' Gyimah, alongside the celebrity matches involving Efe, Darlington, Phyna, and Blessing.
