Lagos regulators inspect Elektron Energy’s 40MW Victoria Island power project
The Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC) recently conducted an official inspection of Elektron Energy’s 40MW Victoria Island Power Plant. The visit aimed to assess construction progress, technical specifications, and compliance with safety and operational protocols.
Developed by Elektron Energy in partnership with Eko Power, the facility is designed to provide dedicated electricity to businesses in Victoria Island, one of Lagos’ most significant commercial districts. The project utilizes Wärtsilä as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor.
This development is part of broader efforts by Lagos State to modernize power infrastructure and encourage private-sector participation in the electricity market. The plant is scheduled to begin commercial operations in December 2026.
