Lagos State Governor rewards LASU top graduates with N20m each

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has awarded N20 million each to two top graduates of Lagos State University (LASU) in recognition of their academic achievements. The awards were announced during the university’s 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies.

The beneficiaries are Ayilara Olawale, who achieved a 4.96 CGPA in Project Management Technology for the 2024/2025 session, and Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide, who recorded a 4.97 CGPA in Aerospace Engineering for the 2025/2026 session. Sanwo-Olu noted that the N40 million total was his personal donation to the students.

In addition to the governor's gift, Oluolamide received a separate N10 million prize from the Sunbeth Excellence Partnership Programme for his performance. The combined convocation saw over 20,000 students graduate, with 494 students earning First Class honours.
