Obafemi Hamzat outlines 2027 Lagos governorship vision

Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 governorship election, has outlined his vision for the state, focusing on governance, the creative economy, and youth support.

Speaking at Podfest Naija, Hamzat addressed the state's notorious traffic congestion, describing it as a “lifestyle” that has inadvertently served as a patron for the creative industry, as residents consume digital content during commutes. He pledged that the Lagos State Government would strengthen the creative economy by providing structured funding, grants, and faster payment systems to help creators build sustainable businesses and protect their intellectual property.

In a separate context, Hamzat emphasized his readiness for the 2027 race, citing his extensive experience in governance and his history of service under President Bola Tinubu. He warned against inexperienced leadership for a state that contributes over 33 per cent of Nigeria's GDP.

Additionally, the KOH 4 Lagos Students Movement has officially adopted Hamzat as their preferred candidate for the 2027 polls, citing his track record in technological governance and infrastructure development.
