Lagos State University to graduate over 20,000 students

Lagos State University (LASU) is set to graduate 20,604 students during its 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello announced that 494 students from first-degree programs achieved first-class honors across the two sessions.

For the 2024/2025 session, 7,621 students graduated from first-degree programs, including 262 first-class recipients. The 2025/2026 session saw 8,653 first-degree graduates, with 232 earning first-class honors. The university will also confer degrees upon 3,383 postgraduate students, including PhD and professional doctorate recipients.

Notable academic achievements include Ayilara Lawal Olawale from the Department of Project Management, who earned a CGPA of 4.96, and Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, who recorded the highest CGPA of 4.97 in the 2025/2026 session. The combined ceremonies also mark the final convocation presided over by Prof. Olatunji-Bello as Vice-Chancellor.
