Lagos to upgrade Turnbull-Parkview intersections in Ikoyi

The Lagos State Government is scheduled to begin a six-month infrastructure upgrade at the Turnbull and Parkview intersections along Gerrard Road in Ikoyi on September 14, 2026. The project aims to resolve chronic traffic congestion and eliminate critical bottlenecks in one of the city’s most significant residential and commercial districts.

Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, announced the project during a stakeholders’ engagement meeting at Banana Island Estate. To minimize disruption, the Ministry plans to implement a detailed traffic management strategy, including conducting construction activities primarily during off-peak morning and evening periods.

The upgrade is expected to involve remodeling the intersections, potentially including road resurfacing, junction expansion, and improved drainage systems. The government has assured stakeholders that measures will be taken to protect essential utilities such as electricity, water, and fiber optic cables, and that compensation plans are in place where necessary.
