Laguna Beach Mother Murdered, Son Arrested as Transgender Suspect

Angela Caprioli, 61, was found dead on Monday in her home in the Rim Rock Canyon area of Laguna Beach, California. Laguna‑Beach police opened a homicide investigation and later arrested her son, Safford Wolfson, 36, on Thursday. Wolfson, who identifies as a transgender woman, was booked on suspicion of murder. The cause and manner of Caprioli’s death have not been released and investigators have offered no motive.
