Laguna Setúbal cleanup agreement signed by Santa Fe and Argentine Army
The Municipality of Santa Fe has signed a strategic agreement with the Argentine Army's 1st Engineer Battalion of Santo Tomé and ten local nautical institutions to remove floating vegetation from Laguna Setúbal and the Santa Fe stream.
The 60-day operation is part of the preparations for the South American Games scheduled to be held in the city this September. The initiative aims to intensify cleaning efforts using specialized military equipment, including Lanre boats and support vessels, to supplement ongoing municipal and provincial work.
According to Cabinet Coordinator Víctor Hadad, the work plan includes cleaning areas near the Pilotes, Paseo de la Laguna, and beneath the Colgante and Oroño bridges. The coordinated effort is being conducted under the framework of National Law 20.459, which regulates public works and services in Argentina.
