Lahekalda residential district gains new bus stop connectivity

The Lahekalda residential district in Tallinn has gained improved public transport connectivity with the addition of the Paekalda bus stop to city bus line no. 44. Previously, the nearest stop was located more than 600 meters from the apartment buildings; the new stop brings transit access directly to the edge of the residential area, benefiting approximately 500 families.

The infrastructure for the stop was developed by Merko, in collaboration with the Lasnamäe District Administration, the Tallinn Transport Department, and Tallinn City Transport. Indrek Tarto, head of Merko Kodud, noted that convenient access to schools and workplaces without the need for a personal vehicle is a highly valued addition for residents.

Lasnamäe District Elder Miroslav Berezovski stated that as new residential areas grow, the surrounding environment and public transport accessibility must keep pace. The expansion of line 44 provides residents with faster connections toward both the city center and the Lasnamäe district.
