Lahore medical hospitals to interview for permanent principal roles

Interviews are expected this week for the permanent principal positions at Lahore General Hospital (Postgraduate Medical Institute) and the Services Institute of Medical Sciences. The Punjab Health Department has summoned 10 candidates, including professors from scales 20 and 21, to undergo the selection process.

Following the merit policy of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the appointments are expected to prioritize seniority and merit. However, reports indicate pressure from certain professors who are seeking the positions despite not being among the top 100 candidates on the seniority list. Several senior candidates are no longer available due to retirement or recent appointments to other administrative roles.
