Lahti employment project reports significant social impact and success

In Lahti, the International Work Lahti project has achieved nearly 200 employments as of late August 2026. An SROI assessment conducted by Kuntoutussäätiö ry for the period between January 2024 and May 2026 found that the project facilitated 160 employments, resulting in a total social impact value of nearly 6.7 million euros.

The initiative, launched in 2024, aims to accelerate the employment of non-native speaking job seekers and strengthen the regional economy by matching skills with employer needs. The project utilizes a specialized recruitment model that integrates education, professional skills, and language proficiency, with support provided to both employers and employees throughout the process. The project is scheduled to continue through the end of 2026.

In sports news, orienteer Maija Sianoja, originally from Sastamala and representing MS Parma, has been selected for the European Championship team. Head coach Thierry Gueorgiou expressed optimism regarding the team's chances for top positions. The championships are scheduled to take place in Lithuania from September 22 to 27.
