Lai Ly Huynh to compete in global Xiangqi doubles tournament

Vietnamese Xiangqi player Lai Ly Huynh, alongside teammates Nguyen Thanh Bao and Nguyen Hoang Yen, will participate in the 9th Jinjiang Cup Global Xiangqi Doubles Tournament in Chengdu, China, from October 15 to 18.

The tournament features a unique format where four players compete on a single board. Two players on each side take turns making moves without being allowed to communicate, requiring them to anticipate their partner's intentions through gameplay alone. The event includes 32 players from 18 countries and territories, including several world and national champions.

The competition begins with individual rapid chess on October 15 and 16, followed by the doubles matches. Players are divided into two groups, Hong Soai and Hac Tuong, competing in a five-round Swiss system. The top two pairs from each group will advance to the finals.
