Lai Van Sam reports increased income following VTV retirement

Veteran journalist and television host Lai Van Sam, who spent over 30 years at VTV, has noted that his income has increased since his official retirement on July 1, 2017.

Since leaving his full-time role, Sam has maintained a busy schedule hosting various programs and traveling between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. He stated that the most significant change is his ability to proactively select shows that interest him, rather than being required to participate in specific productions. He noted, “The biggest change is probably more shows, higher income.” While he has not disclosed specific figures, he has previously mentioned receiving significant compensation for programs such as ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’.
