Nollywood actresses Eniola Badmus and Laide Bakare engage in public feud

A long-standing dispute between Nollywood actresses Eniola Badmus and Laide Bakare has escalated following a viral podcast clip. During an appearance on Isbae U’s “Curiosity Made Me Ask” podcast, Badmus reacted with a hiss and a visible change in facial expression when Bakare was mentioned as a favorite actress.

In response to the backlash, Badmus issued a public apology on Instagram, stating, “On reflection, I realise my reaction when Laide Bakare’s name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise.” She expressed a desire for peace and maturity, urging an end to negativity.

However, Bakare rejected the gesture, labeling it a “fake apology.” Bakare accused Badmus of being an “ingrate,” claiming she had acted as a benefactor by providing financial support to Badmus during a period when the latter struggled to secure film roles due to her physical appearance. The two actresses have a history of public disagreements, including past social media criticisms regarding fashion and professional conduct.
