Lainey Parton honors Dolly Parton with memorial tattoo
Lainey Parton has received a memorial tattoo to honor her late great-aunt, country music icon Dolly Parton, who passed away at the age of 80 following a battle with cancer. The tattoo, which features the script “Love you, Granny,” was created by Kingsport-based artist Justin Harless.
Lainey Parton shared the tribute on Instagram, noting that while she was initially hesitant about getting more ink, the significance of the gesture outweighed her hesitation. She described the tattoo as more than just art, calling it a permanent reminder of her “Granny” that she will carry with her forever.
Dolly Parton passed away on August 25. She had previously kept her cancer diagnosis private to avoid causing concern among her family and fans. She was laid to rest in a private ceremony in Nashville.
