Lainey Reid Defeats Brie Bella on WWE SmackDown, Targets Tag Title

Lainey Reid secured a surprise singles victory over WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Brie Bella on the July 3 episode of SmackDown. The win ended Bella’s first‑ever singles loss in more than eight years after interference from members of the Fatal Influence stable – Fallon Henley, Paige and Jacy Jayne – helped Reid capitalize on a distracted Bella.

The upset positions Reid and her new partner Fallon Henley as the next challengers for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. WWE announced that on July 18’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, Bella and Paige will defend the titles against Reid and Henley, following the earlier announcement of the match on July 4.
