Laja and Junín host local cultural and patriotic celebrations

In Laja, Chile, local authorities and community members gathered at the Plaza Cívica for the traditional raising of the national flag, marking the beginning of the Mes de la Patria celebrations. The event included participation from local officials, including Mayor Vladimir Fica Toledo, as well as various equestrian groups such as the Club de Huasos de Laja and several other local riding associations that represent deep-rooted regional traditions.

In Junín, Argentina, the community celebrated Immigrant Day at the Plaza de los Inmigrantes. Adalberto Saturno, president of the Association of Collectivities of Junín, noted that the event has been held for 33 years and continues to evolve to reflect changing demographics. This year, new flagpoles were added to represent Colombia and Bolivia, following the previous addition of Venezuela. For the first time, a member of the Chinese community will also participate by carrying their national flag.
