Lakambini Chiu pleads not guilty to 124 counts of qualified theft

Lakambini ‘Lakam’ Chiu has pleaded not guilty to 124 counts of qualified theft and was released from the Quezon City Jail Female Dormitory after posting a P5.6 million surety bond.

Chiu attended her arraignment via videoconferencing on Thursday. Her lawyer, Atty. Dominic Solis, stated that she is ‘holding up quite well’ despite the circumstances. The charges involve alleged financial transactions connected to House of Little Bunny Philippines Inc., a business associated with the Chiu sisters.

Actress Kim Chiu, who attended the proceedings in person, issued a statement through legal counsel expressing that she is deeply hurt but intends to let the legal process take its course. Her legal team, representing both Chiu and House of Little Bunny Philippines, Inc., confirmed they are determined to pursue the cases. Due to the subjudice rule, they declined further comment on the specifics of the ongoing litigation.
