Lakambini Chiu seeks bail reduction in qualified theft case

Lakambini “Lakam” Chiu is seeking a reduction in the ₱5,838,000 bail set by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court following her arrest for qualified theft. Her legal counsel, Dominic Solis, filed a motion for a “reasonable bail,” stating that she currently lacks the means to post the full amount.

The legal dispute involves actress Kim Chiu, who filed 124 counts of qualified theft against her sister. The complaint alleges that Lakambini, who managed business operations, was responsible for unauthorized online transfers and bank withdrawals from the corporate accounts of House of Little Bunny Philippines Inc. An internal audit reportedly revealed missing funds totaling approximately ₱44 million, which were allegedly used for gambling.

Kim Chiu stated that the legal action was necessary to protect her business and employees. While Lakambini has denied the allegations, she expressed hope for reconciliation with her sister.
