Lake Balaton tourism: New gastro-bus service and free beach hours

New tourism and leisure options are being introduced around Lake Balaton. The 46° Balaton initiative is launching a gastro-bus service in the Káli Basin to promote regional gastronomy, producers, and wineries. Operating as a hop-on hop-off service, the bus makes multiple loops starting from Balatonfüred, offering passengers the flexibility to visit various locations such as Zánka, Tagyon, and Salföld at their own pace. This service aims to provide a structured yet flexible way for visitors to explore local culinary sites and wineries.

Additionally, the town of Balatonalmádi offers unique access to its paid beaches. Unlike most locations around the lake, Balatonalmádi provides two official time slots every day when entry to its four paid beaches—Wesselényi, Budatava, and the large and small Káptalanfüredi beaches—is free of charge. These windows occur in the early morning from 07:00 to 07:45 and in the evening from 19:00 to 22:00.
