Lake Balaton: Walking tour with miniature donkey begins
A 17-year-old, Bettina Koszonits, is embarking on a 215-kilometer walking tour around Lake Balaton accompanied by Foki, a 2.5-year-old miniature donkey. Starting on August 24 from Balatonalmádi, the duo plans to walk an average of 10 kilometers per day over a period of 30 to 32 days. The journey aims to promote responsible animal ownership and raise donations for their foundation.
The route will pass through locations including Csopak, Balatonfüred, and Balatonfűzfő. To support the trek, the family is utilizing social media to coordinate logistics, including accommodation suitable for the donkey.
For those exploring the Lake Balaton Cycling Route, which spans over 200 kilometers, detailed maps are available to assist with navigation. These resources highlight essential information such as steep climbs, rest areas, water fountains, service points, and local attractions, which is particularly useful for families traveling with children.
