Lake Como rescue operations assist fallen woman and missing surfer
Multiple rescue operations have taken place on Lake Como involving individuals in distress. In one incident on Medale, a 50-year-old woman was rescued after a fall. The operation involved a coordinated effort between the Como helicopter rescue service and the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps of Lecco. The woman was transported to Sant’Anna Hospital in Como in green code status for medical evaluation.
In a separate incident near Gera Lario, a surfer who had been missing for several hours was located. After being spotted by tourists near an old pier, the individual was pulled to shore and treated for hypothermia. Following assistance from the Coast Guard and Firefighters, the man was transferred to a hospital in Gravedona. While his prognosis remains reserved, authorities indicated a recovery is expected.
