Poland’s Baltic coast and lake regions showcase new tourist attractions

A new underwater gondola attraction operates in Zinnowitz, a German Baltic resort 30 km from the Polish port city of Świnoujście. The sealed capsule carries up to 24 passengers beneath the sea for a 45‑minute ride, offering views of the Baltic depths and a short film about underwater life.

Poland’s spa towns are highlighted around its lakes, including Augustów on Lake Necko, Goczałkowice‑Zdrój on Lake Goczałkowickie, and the Solina area in the Bieszczady region. The Solina Dam, the largest concrete dam in Poland, spans 664 m and serves hydro‑electric, flood‑control and tourism functions, with guided interior tours and nearby walking routes such as the “Perła Polańczyka” and “Zielone Wzgórza”.

The country also boasts more than 200 islands suitable for weekend trips. Notable examples are Wolin Island with its cliffs and national park, Sobieszewska Island near Gdańsk where seals can be observed, and the historic Ostrów Lednicki island on Lake Lednickie, linked to the early Piast dynasty.
