Lake Country house fire damages garage and vehicle

A house fire on Cemetery Road in Lake Country caused damage to a garage and a vehicle on September 9. All three local fire halls were dispatched to the scene shortly after 2 p.m.

Deputy Fire Chief Brent Penner stated the blaze began “in the proximity of a vehicle that was located in the garage,” though the official cause remains under investigation. Firefighters were able to contain the damage primarily to the garage area. Following the extinguishment of the flames, the home underwent smoke ventilation.

Three individuals were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but officials confirmed that no one required hospital transport for further care. Cemetery Road has since reopened to traffic.
