Two Lower Mainland suspects arrested in Fort St. John drug probe
The British Columbia RCMP launched a drug‑trafficking investigation on July 30 after identifying two individuals from the Lower Mainland who were believed to be selling illicit drugs linked to organized‑crime groups. On August 4 the suspects – a 28‑year‑old woman and a 33‑year‑old man – were arrested in Fort St. John. A search warrant on the hotel room where they were staying yielded multiple packages of pre‑packaged drugs, a quantity of Canadian cash and a loaded Glock handgun with an extended magazine. Police said the evidence indicated the suspects were “actively involved in drug trafficking within the community.” No charges have been laid and the two have been released while the investigation continues.
The operation underscores ongoing RCMP efforts to curb the flow of illicit substances into northern B.C. communities and highlights connections to broader organized‑crime networks.
