Lake Country watermain project to cause traffic disruptions

Construction on the Woodsdale Watermain Connection Project in Lake Country is scheduled to begin on October 19 and continue through December 2026. The $900,000 project, funded primarily through development cost charges, aims to connect existing water systems on both sides of Highway 97 to increase water capacity for future growth in the Woodsdale area.

Several traffic impacts are expected during the construction period. From October 19 to November 10, Woodsdale Road will experience single-lane alternating traffic between Etheridge Road and Woodsdale Court, while Etheridge Road will be closed at the Woodsdale Road intersection. Motorists are advised to use Reimche Road as an alternate route. Additionally, drivers exiting Seymour Road and Woodsdale Court onto Woodsdale Road will be restricted to left turns only.

From November 1 to November 10, Petrie Road will also undergo single-lane alternating traffic. While the project is expected to impact local street access, officials stated that water service interruptions and impacts to Highway 97 are not anticipated.
