Lake Cowichan historical archives highlight past local news

Historical archives from the Kaatza Station Museum and Archives highlight past headlines from the Lake Cowichan area.

Ten years ago, Lake Cowichan celebrated 28 years of its sister-city relationship with Ohtaki, Japan. During the 29th delegation visit, representatives and citizens gathered at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Akira Ando, the Ohtaki representative, addressed the group during the event.

Other past reports include the town receiving over $1 million in federal and provincial funding for water main upgrades through the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund. Additionally, records from 25 years ago noted the non-renewal of the contract for the town works foreman, Ray Miller, who had served in the position for 16 years.
