European lakes face diverse summer conditions and tourism trends

Various European lake regions are experiencing diverse conditions and tourist trends this summer. In Germany, the Edersee reservoir is facing critical low water levels due to prolonged drought and water regulation needs, leaving much of the lakebed dry and impacting local water sports and bathing operations.

In Italy, Lake Garda remains a major destination with highlights such as the white sands of Manerba del Garda and the historic town of Sirmione. Nearby, Lake Tenno is noted for its exceptional water clarity and turquoise hues, while the Ledro Valley offers a quieter, nature-focused alternative to the busier Garda shores.

In the Lake Constance region, most shores are characterized by gravel, though rare sandy beaches can be found in locations like Rohrspitz in Austria and Langenargen in Germany. The southwestern German region also continues to attract visitors through various summer festivals and natural attractions.
