Lake Koocanusa hosts B.C. Wakesurf Provincial Championships
More than 50 athletes participated in the B.C. Wakesurf Provincial Championships held at Lake Koocanusa. The competition featured various divisions, including Juniors, Amateur, Masters, and Pro, with participants traveling from locations such as Victoria and Alberta.
In the Pro Men’s division, Dagen Duczek secured first place, followed by Ryder Duczek in second and Kerry Williams in third. The Pro Women’s Surf division saw Emily Agate take second place. In the Masters Men’s Skim Division, Isaac Hockley of Moyie earned first place, with Keith Weber of Invermere finishing second.
Local East Kootenay athletes also achieved podium finishes, including Caroline Villeneuve, who took third in Pro Women’s Skim, and Hudson Tily, who placed second in the Grom Boys Division.
