Lake Macquarie City Council to launch Lakeside Sounds series

The long-running Music in the Podium free entertainment series has ended after 28 years. PWP Events & Marketing, the series operators, cited rising operating costs and dwindling sponsorship since the COVID-19 pandemic as the primary reasons for the decision.

To maintain live entertainment in the region, Lake Macquarie City Council will launch a new series called Lakeside Sounds on January 8. The council has committed $20,000 to the initiative, with most funds directed toward artist fees. The new series will feature eight free musical performances held on alternate Friday nights at the Warners Bay and Toronto foreshores.
