Lake Placid Mountainbike World Cup concludes with Frei and Aldridge victories

The 2026 Mountainbike World Cup concluded in Lake Placid, USA, featuring intense competition in both the elite and U23 categories.

In the women's XCO race, Sina Frei secured her third Cross-Country World Cup victory of the season, narrowly defeating Martina Berta in a sprint finish. Samara Maxwell took third place. Jenny Rissveds claimed the overall women's Cross-Country World Cup title, becoming the first Swede to do so.

In the men's race, Charlie Aldridge won after a close battle with Filippo Colombo, who finished second. Luca Martin secured the overall men's World Cup title, completing a double after winning the Short-Track title the previous day.

Swiss rider Alessandra Keller finished fifth in the elite women's race, ending the season sixth in the overall standings. Monique Halter also finished fifth in the U23 category, securing fourth place in the overall U23 World Cup standings.
