Lake Trasimeno to host literary festivals focused on truth and crime fiction

The Lake Trasimeno region in Italy will host two distinct literary festivals this August.

The 15th edition of the Festival delle Corrispondenze will take place at Monte del Lago from September 1 to 6, with preliminary events in Castel Rigone and Perugia starting August 28. This year’s theme, “Vero. Falso. Finto. Le storie che diventano Storia” (True. False. Fake. Stories that become History), focuses on the boundaries between information, manipulation, and propaganda through 40 scheduled appointments involving journalists and intellectuals.

Simultaneously, the sixth edition of Giallo Trasimeno, a festival dedicated to crime fiction, noir, and thrillers, will be held from August 28 to 30 in Tuoro sul Trasimeno and Isola Maggiore. The program includes the “Premio Ragazzi Giallo Trasimeno” for young writers and a session titled “Cold Case in Umbria,” which examines the cases of Mara Calisti and Sonia Marra. The festival also features the “Giallo Plasma AVIS” award, connecting literature with blood donation awareness.
