Lakers focus on roster building around Luka Doncic

The Los Angeles Lakers are focusing on roster construction around Luka Doncic to return to championship contention. The team recently acquired Jaden Hardy from the Washington Wizards in a trade involving Deandre Ayton and two second-round picks. Hardy expressed excitement about reuniting with Doncic and Quentin Grimes, noting that Doncic was a significant mentor to him during their time in Dallas.

However, discussions have emerged regarding the team's internal dynamics and player accountability. Analysts Olden Polynice and Jay Wagers have suggested that head coach JJ Redick may need to demand more defensive accountability from Doncic. While Hardy is expected to provide offensive depth to the Lakers' bench, concerns remain regarding potential defensive limitations and the necessity for Doncic to take greater personal responsibility for his defensive performance to achieve championship success.
