Lakers roster overhaul draws comments from Matt Barnes

Former NBA champion Matt Barnes commented on the Los Angeles Lakers' recent roster overhaul, jokingly stating it is the ‘whitest Laker team since the Minneapolis Lakers.’

Following the departure of LeBron James, the franchise has pivoted to building around Luka Dončić. To support Dončić, the Lakers acquired Walker Kessler via sign-and-trade, securing him with a four-year, $130 million extension. Additionally, Austin Reaves received a four-year, $185 million max contract.

The supporting cast has been expanded with the additions of Quentin Grimes, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Collin Sexton, Ziaire Williams, and Matisse Thybulle. Barnes praised the duo of Dončić and Reaves as two of the league's best scoring guards and noted that the team's depth should make the upcoming season an interesting test for the franchise.
