British Columbia hosts various community and music festivals
British Columbia is hosting several community and cultural events this September. In Delta, the fourth annual Barnside Harvest Festival returns to Ladner’s Paterson Park from September 11 to 13. The music-focused event features a diverse lineup including Smash Mouth, Marianas Trench, J. J. Wilde, Big Wreck, Tom Cochrane, and Kim Mitchell.
In Kelowna, the Denim on the Diamond music event is projected to generate between $4 million and $5 million in economic impact for the Okanagan region. In Maple Ridge, the third annual Our Neck of the Woods festival recently drew an estimated 20,000 people to Memorial Peace Park.
Other regional activities include the 80th annual Lakes District Fall Fair near Burns Lake, featuring agricultural exhibits and traditional festivities, and a free outdoor walking performance by Pacific Opera Victoria in downtown Victoria. Additionally, the Drop Zone Challenge in Victoria saw participants rappel down a highrise to raise funds for Easter Seals BC/Yukon.
