Lakes Free Range Egg Company pledges annual donations to Cancer Research UK

The Lakes Free Range Egg Company, based in Stainton near Penrith, has entered into an official partnership with Cancer Research UK. Under the terms of the agreement, the company will donate 2p for every dozen of its ‘Laid With Love’ branded eggs sold to the charity.

The partnership includes a guaranteed minimum donation of £50,000 per year. This initiative builds upon a long-standing relationship between the Cumbrian supplier and the charity, which has already seen the business donate more than £65,000 to date.

Owners David and Helen Brass stated that the decision to make Cancer Research UK the primary beneficiary followed an visit to the charity’s research facilities in Newcastle. The funds are intended to support expert cancer nurses, clinical trials, and the development of new treatments.
