Lakeshore West GO train services suspended for weekend upgrades
GO Transit has suspended train services on the Lakeshore West line between Aldershot GO and Union Station for the weekend of October 24 and 25. The suspension is part of the Lakeshore West GO Expansion programme, intended to provide faster and more frequent rail connections across southern Ontario.
The service interruption affects six key stations: Appleby, Bronte, Port Credit, Long Branch, Mimico, and Exhibition. Long Branch GO station will also be closed from October 23 to October 26 for upgrades, during which time pedestrian access and parking will be unavailable.
To mitigate the disruption, Metrolinx is deploying replacement buses and enhanced transit services. Passengers traveling between Toronto, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, and Niagara Falls are advised to use alternative routes, such as local shuttle services or nearby stations like Port Credit and Mimico, and to allow for extra travel time.
