Lakkopetra celebrates Saint Demetrios and opens new library

The community of Lakkopetra held celebrations to honor its patron saint, Saint Demetrios, alongside the inauguration of a new lending library. The religious ceremonies included a Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of Saint Demetrios, led by the Hierarchical Commissioner of Dyme, Father Apostolos Dimitropoulos, and several assisting priests. A procession of the Saint's icon took place along the Kato Achaia-Araxos National Road.

Following the religious events, the Mayor of West Achaia, Grigoris Alexopoulos, attended the opening of the new lending library. Located on the first floor of the renovated Community Office, the library is a collaborative initiative between the Municipality of West Achaia, the Local Community, and the Cultural Association ‘Erythra Gaia’. The facility is intended to serve as a hub for culture, education, and local community activities.
