Lakshmi Priya faces police case following Ansiba Hassan's complaint
Police in Kerala have registered a criminal case against actress Lakshmi Priya following a complaint by actress Ansiba Hassan. The case, registered by the Palarivattom police following directions from a magistrate court, stems from allegations that Lakshmi Priya and representatives of the CAN Channel platform circulated videos containing derogatory and sexually coloured remarks against Hassan on social media.
The dispute, which has emerged amid tensions within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), has led to further legal complications. Lakshmi Priya and her husband, Jayesh, have approached the Kerala High Court seeking to quash a criminal intimidation case. This secondary legal action involves allegations that a woman Sub-Inspector of the Vanitha Cell in Tripunithura wrongfully confined Hassan and used threats of imprisonment to force an amicable settlement between the two actresses.
The High Court has issued a notice to Ansiba Hassan regarding the plea to quash the intimidation charges. The legal proceedings involve various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including allegations of wrongful confinement, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.
