Lakshya Sen leads Indian badminton contingent at China Masters

Indian badminton players are set to compete in the USD 1,250,000 China Masters Super 750 in Shenzhen. The tournament serves as a critical preparation event ahead of the upcoming Asian Games.

In the men's singles category, Lakshya Sen aims to recover from a recent second-round exit at the World Championships. He faces a challenging opening match against Alex Lanier. Former World No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth is also scheduled to compete against Chi Yu-jen of Chinese Taipei.

In the men's doubles, the fourth-seeded pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will lead the charge against China's Hu Ke Yuan and Lin Xiang Yi. Rankireddy has recently been managing a recurring shoulder issue.

The Indian contingent also includes several young women's singles players, such as Tanvi Sharma, Devika Sihag, and Unnati Hooda, while Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto will represent the nation in mixed doubles.
