Lal Krishna Advani hospitalized in Delhi with chest infection

Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani has been hospitalized at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. The 98-year-old leader was admitted on Friday evening, around 7:30 pm, due to a chest infection.

Advani is currently receiving treatment in the hospital's pulmonary department and is under the observation of a medical team. Hospital officials have reported that his condition remains stable. Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda visited Advani at the hospital on Saturday to enquire about his health.

This hospitalization follows previous medical visits earlier this year, including an admission in May for age-related complications and a stay in the intensive care unit in December 2024. Advani, a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, played a pivotal role in the growth of the BJP and served as Deputy Prime Minister from 2002 to 2004.
