Lalu Prasad Yadav family trial on IRCTC scam delayed to August 14

The Delhi Rajiv Avenue Court postponed the decision on charges against former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family in an alleged IRCTC hotel contract money‑laundering case. The verdict, originally due on Friday, has been pushed to August 14, following an earlier extension to July 31.

The Enforcement Directorate claims that between 2004‑2009, contracts for IRCTC hotel maintenance were awarded without proper procedures to a private firm linked to Yadav’s close associates, and that a shell company helped the family acquire about three acres of valuable land. Yadav and his relatives deny the accusations and have filed criminal revision petitions in the Delhi High Court.
