Lam Dong reprimands 57 commune and ward chairpersons
The Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has issued formal reprimands to 57 chairpersons of communes and wards for failing to complete approval plans for managing and exploiting surplus housing and land following administrative restructuring.
During a working session with various departments and localities, Vice Chairman Vo Ngoc Hiep noted that while some areas have successfully leased facilities—with the provincial housing management center generating over 8.5 billion VND from 30 out of 87 facilities—many others have shown a lack of decisiveness. Issues identified include incomplete documentation for surplus assets and delays in implementing approved exploitation plans.
The provincial leadership attributed these shortcomings to a lack of responsibility among certain heads of agencies and local units. Additionally, the Deputy Director in charge of the Provincial Land Development Fund was also reprimanded for failing to complete assigned tasks, including asset valuation and management functions.
Authorities have set strict deadlines, requiring local chairpersons to complete management and exploitation plans by September 30, with a requirement for localities to conduct accurate reviews and confirm the status of surplus public assets by September 25.
