Lam River boat capsizing leaves couple missing in Nghe An

A couple has gone missing after their boat reportedly capsized on the Lam River in Nghe An province, Vietnam. The incident occurred on the afternoon of October 2 near Ro Bridge in Kim Bang Commune.

The victims, identified as N. C. H. (54) and his wife N. T. H. (51) from Van An Commune, were scavenging for scrap metal on the river when the accident happened. Witnesses noted that the couple was not wearing life jackets at the time of the incident. While the husband was reportedly a swimmer, his wife was not, leading to concerns that he may have been swept away while attempting to save her.

Local authorities and rescue teams have deployed canoes to search the area, and the boat has since been recovered. However, search efforts are facing significant challenges due to the wide expanse of the river and strong currents.
