Lamar University athletics prepare for upcoming matchups

Lamar University's athletic programs are preparing for upcoming matchups. The volleyball team is scheduled to travel to San Marcos for a preseason match against Texas State following a recent 2-2 draw against Houston Christian.

In men's soccer, the Lamar Cardinals are set to face Louisiana Tech on August 20 at Robert Mack Caruthers Field in Ruston, Louisiana. Louisiana Tech holds a 4-0-0 series lead over Lamar. The Bulldogs enter the match following a performance where freshman goalkeeper Mackenzie Lorkowski recorded 11 saves in her collegiate debut. Lamar, led by head coach Nathan Kogut, enters the contest with a record of 0-1-1, having recently recorded a scoreless draw against Sam Houston.
