Lamarque court orders compensation for gas station collision
A court in Lamarque, Río Negro, has ordered the driver, vehicle owner, and insurance company to pay more than 4.3 million Argentine pesos in damages following a collision at a YPF service station.
The incident occurred on May 8, 2025, when a vehicle performing a reversing maneuver struck the rear of a stationary car that was refueling. While the defense argued the contact was a “slight and almost imperceptible” graze and claimed the damages were pre-existing, an accidentology expert report refuted these claims.
The technical report determined the impact occurred at a speed of 6 to 8 km/h, which was sufficient to break the bumper's tabs, guides, and mounting supports. The ruling by Judge Andrea Iglesias of the Civil and Commercial Unit No. 3 established the causal link between the reversing maneuver and the resulting vehicle damage.
