Lambda seeks $4 billion in funding ahead of 2027 IPO
Lambda, a cloud computing company, is seeking to raise up to $4 billion in a strategic move ahead of a planned initial public offering in 2027. This funding round aims to reach a pre-money valuation of $14.5 billion.
The company has seen significant growth, with its order book increasing from $15 billion in June to $50 billion in September. A major driver of this growth is a $35 billion commitment from the AI firm Anthropic.
Despite high demand for GPU capacity, Lambda faces challenges regarding the high operational costs of infrastructure. The capital injection is intended to support the construction of data centers and strengthen the company's financial position before entering the public markets.
